In 2020, a nationwide count will be conducted to update the US Census. More information will be posted to this page as it becomes available.
The US Constitution requires that every person living in the country being counted every ten years. This count is conducted through the census by the US Census Bureau. Federal funds, grants and support to communities are based on population totals and breakdowns. Data is also used by local governments, businesses and developers

Why is the Census important?
Data is used to:
Determine how to distribute more than $675 billion in Federal funds each year. This includes funding for local public schools.
Determine housing assistance and rehabilitation loans.
Assist state and local governments to plan and implement programs, services, and emergency response.
