Council Reviews Full Docket, Schedules Special Meeting for Aug. 30

City Council had a full docket for its Aug. 27 meeting.

First a public hearing was held for rezoning the current MH-R (Manufactured Home Residential) District to an R1-D District. The MH-R boundaries are Murray Street, Sixth Avenue, Smith Street, and Dawsett Avenue. Earlier this year, council created the R1-D District for residential, single-family use that allows permanently sited manufactured homes.

In legislation, there was a first reading for an ordinance that enacts the rezoning.

With Council members Shirley Clark and Tammy Erlsten absent that evening, seven other ordinances were held to a first reading, including some time-sensitive items. Therefore, Council scheduled a special meeting for Friday. Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. The special meeting is officially being called by Council members Gail Baldinger, Tom Fellner, and Mark Triplett.

Legislation to be considered is:

  • Ord. 2019-52 – Appropriation adjustments in the Airport Fund, Police and Fire Pension funds, Recreation Fund, and Convention & Visitors Bureau Fund.
  • Ord. 2019-55 – An amendment to identify which fund the Brandt Road traffic signal project will be paid.
  • Ord. 2019-56 - Agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to participate in the Bridge inspection program.
  • Ord. 2019-59 – An easement agreement with the Crawford County Engineer’s Office for a bridge replacement project on Hosford Road.

Other legislation considered at the Aug. 27 meeting was a final reading for a pole attachment agreement for commercial fiber optic lines and a second reading for an amendment to Section 501.3 of the Codified Ordinances.

First readings were held for a wetland mitigation purchase agreement related to property donated to the city at the US 30-State Route 598 interchange, a bid authorization for a window repair and painting project at the Big Four Depot, and a land purchase agreement related to the future bike path.
