Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Galion at the Municipal Building, 301 Harding Way East, Galion, OH 44833 until August 14th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. local time, for furnishing all material and equipment required and performing all labor required for the following work:

Wearing course removal and placing a new asphalt surface on Southern Ave., W. Parsons between S. Market and Boston, Fairview from Hetrick north to city limits, Switzer East and Westbound, Riblet from Harding Way East to Church, Riblet from Church to Primrose, N. Washington from Church to Payne, Summit from Union to Park, Liberty from Harding Way East to Payne Ave. within the City of Galion, Ohio.

Bids are also to include wearing course removal and patching on N. Union from Erie south, Walker from N. Union west, Liberty St. from Harding Way East to Payne Ave within the City of Galion, Ohio.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Sections 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

This contract is subject to Ohio Prevailing Wage Laws, Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code and the Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with all provisions contained therein or as otherwise noted.

Pursuant to Section 9.24 of the Ohio Revised Code, the City of Galion will not award this contract to a person or company against whom a finding for recovery has been issued by the Auditor of State on and after January 1, 2001, if the finding for recovery is unresolved.

Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experience on projects of similar size and complexity.  The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than October 20, 2017.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contract compliance with the equal opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

Sealed bids will be publicly opened on the above date, read aloud and an award made at the time to which considerations of said bids may be duly adjourned, as provided by law.

The bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to furnish a surety bond acceptable to the City of Galion in the sum of 100% of the amount of the contract, as a guarantee to the faithful performance and completion of the work called for in the Plans and Specifications.
