Construction for Phase 1 of a recreation trail, now called the Levant Dawson Trail, began in April of 2020. Iberia Earthworm Construction was the contractor. The trail provides a safer way for Galion residents to walk, run, and bike. 

The project was funded by the Egbert M. Freese Foundation in the amount of $280,931.
