[ARCHIVED] Council Considers Six Items of Legislation at Final Meeting of 2016

Galion City Council held its final meeting of 2016 on Dec. 27. Ord. 2016-117 approved benefits for non-bargaining unit employees, in order to align them with the union contracts approved on Dec. 13. It passed as an emergency reading.

Ord. 2016-118 authorized the safety-service director to enter into a contract for engineering and consulting services for Galion Municipal Airport with the firm deemed most qualified. It passed as a first reading.

Ord. 2016-119 amended 2016 appropriations to reduce appropriations of the following unexpensed funds:

  • $12,000 reduced in the FAA Fund
  • $3,000 reduced in the Street Construction, Maintenance and Repair Fund
  • $800 reduced in the Airport Fund
  • $3,000 reduced in the Recreation Fund
  • $300 reduced in the Recreation Fund
  • $70,000 reduced in the Electric Fund

This item passed as an emergency.

Ordinances 2016-26, 2016-27, and 2016-28 approved re-appointments to Galion’s three Design Review Boards, to fill terms that expire this year.

Craig Clinger (Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2019)

Patty Roston (term ending Dec. 31, 2017)

Erik Gimbel was appointed as an alternate board member.

Dr. Richard Byrom (Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2019)

Craig Clinger (Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2019)

Harding Way West:

David Keller (Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2019)

Chris Heydinger (Jan. 1, 2017 through Dec. 31, 2019)

Michelle McCarthy was appointed as an alternate board member.

All three items passed as emergencies.
