[ARCHIVED] Community Clean Up Day is June 17

The City of Galion, in partnership with the Galion Ministerial Association, will be holding a Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, June 17, 2017. This is your opportunity to get your yard spruced up and looking great. Volunteers will be available to assist those who request help.


There will be a drop-off site for trash located behind the Galion City Building, 301 Harding Way East, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The drop-off is available only to City of Galion residents. Drivers licenses will be checked.


You or your volunteer can dispose of:

  • Trash – can be taken to dumpsters at City Building.
  • Yard waste – can be taken to Taylor Road Composting Facility from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Lawn and leaf bags are available at the city building and the utilities office.
  • Medication – can be taken to permanent drop box at the Police Department any time.


Curbside pickup of trash and yard waste will be on Monday, June 19. Streets will only be collected once, so be sure to have items placed on the curb early. The city WILL NOT be collecting:

  • Hazardous waste (cleaners, stains, varnishes, batteries, automotive fluids, pesticides, herbicides, certain paints, etc.)
  • Construction waste (carpet, drywall, toilets, etc.)
  • Electronics (anything computer related, TV’s, digital cameras, MP3 players, DVD players, satellite receivers, video cassette recorders, electronic games, etc.)
  • Appliances
  • Tires
  • Recyclables


Please note: tires WILL NOT be collected during this event.
