City Council reviewed the Power Cost Adjustment during its September 12 meeting. The PCA is one variable for electric bills, based on the city’s total power supply cost and collected revenue. It is reviewed twice per year and is currently set at $0.0040. The legislation recommended changing the amount to $0.0057.
City Auditor Brian Treisch explained the city worked with the consultant Sawvel and Associates to compute the projected costs of power, and reviewed the recommendation with the Utilities Committee. Based upon 670 kilowatt hours of monthly usage for a residence, a customer will see an increase of $1.14.
The first reading passed 5-0. Council members Susan Bean and Jim Hedges were absent that evening.
There were no other items of legislation on the agenda.
