Civil Service Commission

Responsible for amending and enforcing rules pertaining to civil service positions, conducting examinations, and maintaining eligibility lists for classified positions. This is a three-member body and each member receives a small stipend. Terms are staggered at two, four, and six years. You must live within the Galion City School district in order to be eligible.

Planning and Zoning Commission

Responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to the zoning ordinance, permitting conditional uses, reviewing site plans, and considering other zoning matters as needed. This is a five-member body. Members serve four-year terms as volunteers. You must live within the Galion City limits in order to be eligible.

Board of Zoning Appeals

Responsible for reviewing appeals or requests for variance as submitted. This is a five-member body. Members serve one-year terms as volunteers. You must live within the Galion City limits in order to be eligible.
