Utility customers may sign up for a Budget Plan by Aug. 31. This allows you to pay the same amount on your bill each month. August is the settle up month; if there is a difference between your total electric usage and what you actually paid, then you are charged or reimbursed for the difference.
In order to be placed on a Budget Plan, you need at least 12 months of account history and your account must be paid in full. If you get behind on making budgeted payments, you may be removed from this program. Customers always receive a reason if they are denied a Budget Plan.
We do NOT recommend applying for assistance through Community Action if you participate in the Budget Plan, as it will only pay the amount of your budget payment (not the total amount you owe).
