[ARCHIVED] AMP Announces 2020 Scholarships

American Municipal Power has announced two college scholarship opportunities. The Lyle B. Wright Scholarship is available to any student whose household receives electricity through an AMP member community (i.e. Galion Municipal Electric). The Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship is available to any student whose parent or guardian is an employee in an AMP member municipal electric system (including Galion).

Other qualifications:

  • Graduating senior with cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Enrollment in an accredited college, university or technical school.
  • Personal achievement form.
  • Completion of a public power test.

The award amount for both scholarships is $3,000. Nominations forms must first be submitted to the City of Galion, which may only nominate one student per scholarship for consideration by AMP's Scholarship Committee. 

Nomination forms are due by Dec. 18, 2020. Applicant must include a high school transcript. You may submit the form by:
