Sealed Bids will be received by the Safety Service Director of the City of Galion, Ohio at the office of said Safety Service Director until 11:00 AM on June 1, 2023, for the furnishing of all material and equipment required and performing labor required for the following work: 

Site preparation and paving for two areas in Heise Park, including associated drainage.

Specifications may be obtained at the office of the Safety Service Director, Municipal Building, 301 Harding Way East, Galion, Ohio 44833. Ordinance No. 2023-42.

Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Sections 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. 

This contract is subject to Ohio Prevailing Wage Laws, Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code and the Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with all provisions contained therein or as otherwise noted. Pursuant to Section 9.24 of the Ohio Revised Code, the City of Galion will not award this contract to a person or company against whom a finding for recovery has been issued by the Auditor of State on and after January 1, 2001, if the finding for recovery is unresolved.

Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in the same and be accompanied by a bond or certified check on some solvent bank, in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, to the satisfaction of the Safety Service Director as a guaranty that if the bid is accepted a contract will be entered into and its performance secured. Should any bid be rejected, such check will be forthwith returned to the bidder upon proper execution of the contract.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contract compliance with the equal opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor's Executive Order of 1972, and the Governor's Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked “Heise Park Paving Project.” Sealed bids will be publicly opened on the above date, read aloud and an award made at the time to which considerations of said bids may be duly adjourned, as provided by law.

The bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to furnish a surety bond acceptable to the City of Galion in the sum of 100% of the amount of the contract, as a guarantee to the faithful performance and completion of the work called for in the Plans and Specifications.
